How Pontoon Beach got its Name
Pontoon Beach has an interesting history, including how it got its name. Furthermore, “there are two slightly different stories concerning the origin of the name Pontoon Beach. One says that the name was used because a bridge supported by pontoons was built across Long Lake.
The other claims that the name began because steep banks lined most of Long Lake and residents made docks that were floated on pontoons, thus forming a kind of beach.”
Furthermore, Pontoon Beach, Illinois is situated near the Mississippi River and is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area, making it close to the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, being at the intersections of so many interstate highways makes it easy for attendees to get to the location.
Moreover, Pontoon Beach offers various recreational opportunities, including nearby parks, camping, boating, and fishing options. It’s a suburban community with a mix of residential areas, commercial establishments, and industrial zones. Check out more history by clicking here.

Be Safe & Sound
I digress a little to recommend the scent of peppermint, if you’re not allergic. It naturally repels all kinds of insects, including mosquitoes, and I enjoy the smell of it too. Peppermints sticks will fight bad breath and peppermint lotion covers body odor so you won’t stink on a sweaty social outing. Read about some of the benefits of peppermint by clicking here.
